Highland cattle are very distinctive usually due to their large horns. While they are docile and gentle animals ours are polled (the horns removed) to make then easier to handle and transport between sites.
As the name suggests Highland cattle originate from the north and west of Scotland. They come in a range of colours from white to black. The brown, or dun, colour is now most common but black was the traditional colour of these animals. They are now used the world over in conservation grazing schemes.
Our cattle are owned in partnership with a Northumberland farmer and grazed on a range of sites particularly where mixed grazing is beneficial.
