Conservation Grazing in North East England
A big thank you to all those who came along and helped with the shearing this year. Here are a few photos from a ‘shearer’s eye’ view of work in progress.
All the sheep are now nice and cool in the warm weather and I can work on standing up straight again!!
The sheep have returned to graze on Ha hill in Carlisle park for the summer. They will keep the grass down as well as browse on the brambles and other scrub that is starting to grow there.
Whilst checking on the sheep that have been grazing on the birch scrub at Prestwick we came across this tree stump where the red squirrels have been feeding on the pine cones. They were being shy that day and we never saw any but we often come across them while out there checking on the stock.
